Rob started volunteering at Mesa Elementary School when his daughter was in kindergarten, and has continued to manage the stage work for the school's musical productions. Watching the students mature as performers from kindergarten to fifth grade as they become seasoned pros is especially gratifying.
Rob is also a member of Historic Boulder. Historic Boulder is proud of its role in creating historic districts, advocating for the landmarking of significant structures and exploring sites for future preservation. As the first permanent preservation organization in the city, Historic Boulder continues to champion the preservation of the physical reminders of Boulder's heritage.
Over the last two years, most of Rob's free time has been taken up in building a new energy efficient home in the Eldorado Springs area. He spent countless hours of quality time with his architect, Jim Logan Architects and his contractor, Bob Hughes of Hughes Construction learning the details of the various energy efficient systems – photovoltaic panels, ground source heat pump, super-insulation and efficient windows. The house was completed in the spring of 2010 and Rob and family are thoroughly enjoying the new digs.
Colleen is a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and served for many years on the Board of Directors of Carriage House Community Table, an organization that serves the homeless community. She's also past board member of Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (WRV) and continues to volunteer as a cook. WRV is dedicated to caring for the land in our beautiful state and you will often find Colleen hiking, camping, or rafting.
Recently Colleen assisted Blue Sky Bridge on the Audit Committee and is currently serving on the Planned Giving Committee of HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties. This has been an opportunity to use her expertise in estate planning to assist an organization that provides remarkable care in our community.
Non-Profit organizations play a critical role in our community. As part of our commitment to our community we would like to help those who help so many others. We offer participants up to four hours of financial consultations and analysis at no cost. Consultations can be about any topic. Participants could also choose to do a comprehensive financial plan, in which case we would credit $600 toward the cost of the plan.
