Rob Fauver

I came to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado where I received a Bachelor of Environmental Design in 1976 and in 1981 a Masters of Planning and Community Development. Like many others I decided to stay. I have been married for over 25 years and have a daughter who recently graduated from college and a son in college.
After completing the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards educational requirements, I started a financial planning and investment management firm in 1995. In addition to my private clients, I worked with other financial firms in Boulder as a plan writer and investment analyst, including Lighthouse Financial until 2006. I developed that firm's investment management process by establishing investment parameters and selecting managers and hiring staff. In 2006, Colleen Knopinski and I founded Knopinski and Fauver Financial Advisors. Building on our experience with other firms we were able to create efficient systems which allow us to offer outstanding financial services at very reasonable prices. Prior to financial planning I was a land use planner for 14 years with the City of Boulder.
"I've always been a planner... from planning Boulder's growth to working with individuals to address their personal financial issues. I enjoy the collaborative process - the give and take as you travel from point A to point B. The key for the planner is to bring openness to the process."
